Gordon Jack Hancock
Gordon was born in Fringford in 1920, when his father, Hubert Gerald, and mother Constance Annie lived at Green Farm, Fringford. Hubert was the village baker and Constance was the Head of Cottisford School.
Gordon was a Driver with the 18th Supply Group Royal Army Service Corps and had a service number of T/5383004. He was taken prisoner by the Japanese and put to work on the Thailand – Burma Railway. He died on 25th July 1943 and is buried at Kanchanaburi Cemetery, Thailand. (129km NW of Bangkok.)
